You can EXCLUDE specific member groups from displaying in this widget. Names can be sorted alphabetically or by latest visit to oldest visit (see notes). Coded for zero-impact on page loads! Notes: 1) Zero-impact means zero impact. The underlying member data is generated via a task that runs every five minutes. That means a single database query for this data every five minutes, not on every user's page load. 2) This does mean that if you adjust the sort options or the groups from which members are selected, you will need to wait up to five minutes for these changes to appear in the widget. 3) By and large it really should not matter how many names you choose to display in the widget, but if this is creeping up towards 1000 or more, the impact will not be from the underlying widget code itself, but merely you pushing out 1000 or more names and links to the page. The widget is cached as well but you still might be pushing too much to the browser. Your site, you test! Test and adjust as needed. Outside of that single database query every five minutes, the rest is all fetched from whatever you have set for your Data Store. 4) Anonymous users are NEVER INCLUDED! 5) Additionally, if you are displaying names from latest visit to earliest, the timestamp used to set this is the initial session start time, not the user's latest activity. This means when a user toggles off their anon status they are likely to appear somewhat down stream in the list of names in the widget rather than right at the top. A slight hedge against stalkerish behavior. 6) Renewals are every three months but this is mostly to catch out rapid changes in IPS code which are becoming common with their new release cadence. I actually expect, as usual, most people to forgo renewals until they NEED it. Most likely when we see the next point version and the Marketplace requires an update. Note: For badges, the comment/review/post three-dot dropdown menu is often gatekept by numerous permissions. The badge is inserted within this structure. Typically, if the member group of a viewer allows them to report or share these comments/reviews/posts the badge will appear for them. Otherwise not. This gatekeeping may vary from app to app. If online status is vitally important to your community use one of the other two options. For all other 3rd-party applications, as long as they are using the built-in Invision Community commenting and reviews templates this will slot in seamlessly. When enabled, the administrator permission "Can sign in as members?" provides an administrator with a "Sign in as...." link when viewing a member in the ACP. This link, when clicked, will redirect the administrator to the front-end of the site where they are effectively logged in as that user and able to view the site as that user. A useful feature, which can help with understanding what a user sees and can do etc - however, it does allow that administrator to be able to sign in as other administrators and potentially gain access to sections of the site that are restricted from being viewed by that administrator normally. In reality, you should only provide this permission to people whom you trust - however, if you do wish to be able to allow this permission for some administrators while stopping them from being able to sign in as 'higher-level' administrators, then this application assists with that. How it works: Upon installation, navigate to the application in the "NE Applications" section of your ACP - you'll be in the 'Protected Groups' listing. Click 'Add protected group' and firstly select the group which you would like to protect. There are 2 fields: Allowed Group(s) - this a listing of the groups which have the 'Can sign in as member' permission Allowed Member(s) - this is a listing of the members who have the 'Can sign in as member' permission exclusively applied to them Simply pick the entries in those 2 fields, and save the form - those picked are the groups/members who will be able to see the option to allow them to sign in as members of that group chosen to be protected. Those unchosen will no longer see the option. An additional feature is in place which will assist with catching 'bad actors' who might attempt to sign in as someone who they are not allowed to sign in as - the login attempt will fail gracefully, and the user will be re-directed to the home page of the site. Welcome to our August (and June and July) developer's Update! We've had a busy summer so far, with our team working on the final touches to 4.7 which introduced range of new Cloud specific features. In our August release we also added a way to schedule topics. @Jordan Miller announced the new solutions improvements here, this will be included in our September release (4.7.2) PHP8 Compatibility Scanner We are excited to announce that as a platform we (finally) are starting the process of migrating from PHP7 to PHP8 in order to keep the software secure, modern, and performant. Since PHP8 includes some breaking changes from PHP7, we've built a Method Scanner that will iterate through third party apps and plugins to find fatal issues, disabling any such customizations on upgrade. The apps and plugins disabled in this manner will not be able to be re-enabled until they are updated with the fixes. Developers, please make sure that your resources are fully tested with PHP 8+ and the method signatures match. For developers, the main issue the scanner looks for is instances in which a method's signature is altered when extending a class; this can cause fatal errors that make even the AdminCP inaccessible. Violating code can be found both in your hooks as well as other PHP classes your app/plugin uses. While IPS 4.7 is already quite optimized, some people like me need more, MUCH MUCH more and that's where SEO Essentials comes to place. SEO Essentials is a powerful tool collection for IPS 4.7 to make sure that your community ranks better. This application will give you a great overview of topics and IP Pages Records, which could/should be optimized based on the title length ( to avoid that google changes the SERP title), it will give you a great overview of the content from a specific topic, it allows you to flag content which isn't worth to be indexed so that Google & Co know that they shouldn't index it. Features: Get an overview of all your topics, their visibility and important parameters like the Page Title Length. See Headline Hierarchy of any topic page, if there are any keywords for which you want to rank, etc.. Another feature of this application is that moderators can flag topics which aren't worth to be indexed, so that google knows that it doesn't need to index it at all! Once the topic was flagged, a no index tag will be added and it will also be automatically excluded from the sitemap! The same is possible for IP Pages! When you share your Commerce product pages on social media sites like Facebook, the website’s default sharer image will currently be used, but this is not very appealing and will likely result in a low click-through rate. This plugin will use the title image uploaded for a Commerce product and set it as as Open Graph image (“og:image”), so social media sites (Facebook, Twitter and more) can use it as thumbnail image to represent the link. The process is fully automatic. There are no settings and no image needs to be picked manually. What’s needed: Commerce application Notes: The plugin should work on all Invision Community installations using the stock theme. The functionality on custom themes cannot be guaranteed, when the Commerce templates differ from the stock templates. This plugin only adds the attachment image to the source code, so Facebook and other social media services can pick it up. There is no guarantee, that the image will be used instantly and that later changes to the forum images will be used by social media services. Facebook caches the images and loads them asynchronously. So when you share an URL for the first time, the image might not show instantly. If you want to test what Facebook is picking up, go to https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/ If you don’t see an image for your topic URL or it is an outdated one, click “Scrape again” until the correct image is loaded.
